Sustainable change isn’t easy. But you can automate some of it?

Many mornings I have struggled to get out of bed.

I have had days I was rude to a coworker, or even in fear of going into work.

I have had evenings where I am parked on the couch eating while watching whatever.

Strange that those days I didn’t want to get up the next morning right? ;)

I’m human, and behaving in these ways is normal.

But acting this way consistently leads to unhappiness and unfullfillment.

So, establishing this isn’t how I would like to be, what should I do?

Define;

  1. Who you would like to be, and,

  2. Re-introduce temperance

When defining who you would like to be keep it simple.

Develop a picture through writing and visualization.

Don’t spend much time, this should be dynamic.

When re-introducing temperance, determine which areas in your life need a change.

Get curious.

Do some introspection or internal work to determine the areas and roadblocks.

Do research to discover tools that can help you.

Get excited about working towards a better future.

The easiest way to automate change is a sustainable morning and evening routine.

Due to my own struggles, I found that my AM routine should include exercise and meditation.

In the evening I have a set time I wind down, I practice Italian and often write.

Maybe your routines will focus on yoga, reading, or walking while getting sunlight.

My number one recommendation is to start out small.

In choosing a new habit, don’t spend more than 5 minutes, consistency is key.

Sustainable change takes baby steps.

Be compassionate with yourself and give yourself time to change.

There is no need to go through this process on your own.
