What if you could embody the necessary qualities to succeed in your most important moments?

Growing up I was the kind of kid who listened to the radio instead of watching cartoons.

I was obsessed with music.

So when I was living as a full-time DJ in my mid 20’s I couldn’t believe I was living my dream.

When I got behind the turntables, it gave me the ability to turn into the superhero performer, ‘DJ Brake’.

I changed into a different person and it felt right.

‘The Alter Ego Effect' by Todd Herman is a great book.

It shows us the formula for how we can do this in any area of our lives if we want to perform at our best.

Is there an area of your life you would like to perform better?

What if you could transform into the best version of yourself in these moments?

What would be the impact on your life if you did?

The Coles notes way to create this:

  1. Pick the most important character traits that your Alter Ego should embody. Eg.boldness, openness, integrity, grit, service

  2. Think of a superhero, famous person, family member, or animal. They should match the character traits you picked and it should also resonate with you.

  3. Buy/get a totem, (symbol), or artifact, (something passed down to you). This should represent and help you activate your Alter Ego. This should be before your moment of impact arises, eg. put on a pair of glasses or slip on a ring before your big meeting.
