Progress isn’t based upon a set amount of time, but the amount of effort.
The above quote is one of my favorite things I have heard and believe in.
What this comes down to for me is focus.
We need to focus on what’s most important.
Taking the right actions day in and day out.
Staying 100% devoted to that is a world apart from working towards 2 competing objectives.
We all have different projects.
But, they need to support each other in accomplishing what we want in the future.
The question is, how do we stay focused?
Define your end-in-mind goal. You can do this with different methods of reflection. Writing, meditation, and discussions with those who can help are examples.
Break down milestones that are challenging enough to be exciting but not too tough so we lose hope when obstacles come up.
Also, stay away from too much planning and quantifying progress toward each goal.
Success doesn’t often come in the terms we have defined. We often arrange limitations by defining in detail what success means.
Think back 10 years ago, could you imagine what you have accomplished? If so, what about the ways in which you achieved what you have?
Ask yourself, am I focused now, or do I need a reset? If so, give yourself a break to recharge.
Then before getting busy, realign your end-in-mind goal and determine how to get there.
